Engineering Reports & Studies
Provided hydraulic modeling services to support a Sewer System Evaluation Survey (SSES) for the City of Lawrence. Developed a hydraulic model of the sanitary sewer system and calibrated the model with collected flow data to represent current sewer system conditions and its response to selected representative design storms (10-year, 25-year, and 100-year events). The area to be modeled included all of the City of Lawrence, IN. The sewer system is separate and included approximately 4,200 manholes, 900,000 linear feet of sewer pipes varying in size from 4” to 42” as well as 25 lift stations. Interpreted flow meter data for 54 meters to determine dry and wet weather flows as well as the sewer systems response to rainfall dependent inflow and infiltration (RDII). Utilized the model to develop and model alternatives that would alleviate sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs).
