Eagle Creek Interceptor CSO 33 Sewer Separation

Combined Sewer System Modeling

Performed hydrologic and hydraulic modeling services for a sewer separation project in Indianapolis. Performed alternatives development and analysis, as well as final design of the selected alternative to incorporate green infrastructure using roadside stormwater planters to manage stormwater runoff. Reviewed modeling data of the proposed combined sewer separation and analyzed hydraulic characteristics. Built a new separate sewer SWMM model and determined the size and location of the proposed improvements to satisfy design flow hydraulics of the project. Evaluated the proposed sewer pipe horizontal and vertical alignments, as well as velocities and capacities at various slopes, to make recommendations to minimize scour, deposition, and sedimentation. Produced conventional and green infrastructure alternative model runs to optimize the selection of cost-effective sewer separation solutions for the CSO 033 sewershed and meet Consent Decree (CD) requirements.
