Evansville West WWTP Expansion
Treatment Plant Facility Expansion Design
Powers designed the new phosphorous chemical feed system, including the metering pump equipment, and the preparation of drawings and specifications for the pumps, feed piping, chemical storage tanks, and yard piping. Powers also designed a new non-potable "plant water" system to accommodate increased demands from the new grit handling system, CSO storage tank, and sludge transfer station. The plant water pumps and new non-potable lines to each service location were hydraulically designed to determine capacity requirements. Additionally, Powers performed hydrualic modeling to assess collection system impacts immediately upstream of the treatment plant, as well as to verify the sizing and performance of the new CSO equalization storage basin. Finally, Powers prepared erosion and sediment control plans for the entire plant expansion and coordinated with local agencies to secure the Construction Stormwater General Permit required for the project.
